#ShowMe Mizzou Game Notes
Series History vs. Jacksonville State
- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 3-0.
- This weekend will mark the programs' first meeting in 21 years. The Tigers and Gamecocks last met from April 3-4, 1999, in Columbia, Missouri.
- Mizzou produced a three-game series sweep over Jacksonville State at Taylor Stadium, outscoring the Gamecocks, 30-13.
Mizzou in Recent Season Openers
- This weekend will mark the first time in five years that Mizzou hasn't opened its season in the state of Florida. In 2016 and 2017, the Tigers competed in neutral site three-game series in Fort Myers. The past two seasons, Mizzou traveled to Miami and Jacksonville for true three-game series on the road.
- Under Coach Bieser, the Tigers possess a 6-4 record in season-opening series. Mizzou went 1-2 a season ago at North Florida, 2-1 in 2018 at Florida International and 3-1 vs. Eastern Michigan in 2017.
- The Tigers' last unscathed season-opening weekend occurred in 2015, as they swept a four-game series against Iona.
Bedell Garners Two Preseason All-American Honors
- Last month, Mizzou junior RHP Ian Bedell was tabbed a 2020 Preseason Third-Team All-American by D1Baseball and Preseason Third-Team All-American by Perfect Game/Rawlings.
- Following the honor by Perfect Game/Rawlings, Mizzou has now been represented in its annual Preseason All-American list in each of the past five seasons. Bedell joins former Tiger alums OF Kameron Misner (2019), LHP TJ Sikkema (2018) and RHP Tanner Houck (2016-17) as players to be honored over the aforementioned stretch.
