Mizzou Baseball’s Bedell Named 2020 Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason All-American

Tiger RHP coming off breakthrough 2019 campaign
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball junior RHP Ian Bedell was tabbed a 2020 Preseason Third-Team All-American by Perfect Game/Rawlings, announced Tuesday by the organization. The Davenport, Iowa, native was one of 51 players selected to the organization's First, Second and Third-Team All-American lists.
Mizzou has now been represented in Perfect Game's Preseason All-American list in each of the past five seasons. Bedell joins Tiger alums OF Kameron Misner (2019), LHP TJ Sikkema (2018) and RHP Tanner Houck (2016-17) as players to be honored over the aforementioned stretch.

Bedell was simply magnificent a season ago across Southeastern Conference and Cape Cod League summer competition. The Tiger righty combined to go 7-1 with a 1.14 ERA and 72 strikeouts over 71.0 innings pitched in two of the nation's premier collegiate leagues.
Beginning last spring in the SEC, Bedell evolved into one of the NCAA's top bullpen arms by accumulating a 3-1 record with a 1.56 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 40.1 innings pitched. His 2019 Mizzou sophomore campaign was highlighted by 19.0 consecutive scoreless innings from March 27 – May 3.
Following the Tigers' season, Bedell earned an invite to the prestigious summer Cape Cod League. He was virtually unhittable over six starts on the bump with the Wareham Gatemen, going 4-0 with a 0.58 ERA and 36 strikeouts over 30.2 innings pitched.
Bedell was later named to the 2019 CCBL All-League Team, as well as garnering the BFC Whitehouse Outstanding Pitcher Award for the Cape Cod League's top overall hurler.
