Roman and Ashford Named to SEC Community Service Team

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field redshirt senior Karissa Roman (Kewanee, Ill.) and redshirt sophomore Jayson Ashford (Fairview Heights, Ill.) were named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, announced by the league office. In addition to full class schedules and a rigorous travel schedule for competitions, Roman and Ashford were able to devote many hours of service to the Columbia community.

In addition to full class schedules and a rigorous travel schedule for competitions, Roman and Ashford were able to devote many hours of service to the Columbia community.

Roman has volunteered more than 62 hours of her time back to the Columbia community during her time on campus. Over her career, Roman has volunteered at the Food Bank, Susan G. Komen Race, Special Olympics, High School track meets and the Mizzou Youth Experience. Additionally, Roman spent 15 hours of her time dedicated to the Bright Thailand Foundation.

Ashford has volunteered more than 41 hours of his time back to the Columbia community during his time on campus. Over his career, Ashford has volunteered at the Food Bank, Susan G. Komen Race, Special Olympics, High School track meets and the Mizzou Youth Experience.
