COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball continues its non-conference schedule this weekend at the Dayton Invitational. The Tigers will compete in three matches over two days, beginning with a doubleheader Friday (Sept. 6) inside the Frericks Center.
Mizzou will square off against No. 14 Michigan and host Dayton, followed by a Saturday (Sept. 7) contest versus Northern Illinois to round out its weekend. The Tigers and Flyers' matchup Friday evening will broadcast live on WatchESPN.

Series Snapshot vs. Michigan
- Mizzou trails in the all-time series, 2-0.
- The two programs last met seven years ago (Aug. 25, 2012) in an early-season matchup in Columbia, Missouri.
- The Wolverines have claimed all six sets played in the teams' all-time matches.
Series Snapshot vs. Dayton
- The all-time series is tied, 1-1.
- Friday evening will mark the programs' first meeting in 27 years. The Tigers and Flyers last met in the 1992 campaign, as they played each other twice in two days.

- Mizzou trails in the all-time series, 3-1.
- The two squads last met three years ago (Dec. 1, 2016) in an NCAA Tournament First Round matchup in Columbia, Missouri.
- The Tigers claimed a 3-0 sweep inside the Hearnes Center, marking their first victory in the all-time series.
Mizzou Topples Miami (Fla.) in 2019 Season Opener
- It didn't take long for a little adversity to strike Mizzou, as its original season-opening tournament in San Juan was cancelled due to Hurricane Dorian. The Tigers traveled to Miami (Fla.) for a single contest against the Hurricanes.
- After a shaky opening set, Mizzou responded in a big way with three dominant set triumphs en route to a 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-17) victory.
- Dating back to the 2008 campaign, Mizzou has now been victorious in 12 consecutive season openers.
- The Tiger middle blocking duo of junior Tyanna Omazic and redshirt sophomore Kayla Caffey were phenomenal, combining to produce 19 kills on .548 hitting.
- 2019 Preseason All-SEC honoree, junior Kylie Deberg, opened her season with a double-double and paced the Tigers in total kills and digs.
- Last Friday's victory marked interim head coach Joshua Taylor's first career win at the helm of Mizzou. He's one of four all-time Tiger head coaches to win his debut on the sideline (Wayne Kreklow – 2005, Susan Kreklow – 2000, Debbie Duren – 1974).
