SCOUTING THE OPPONENT . . . MURRAY STATE |
- The Racers have managed to score frequently through two weeks, averaging 2.00 goals a game in 2019.
- Murray State is led offensively by senior Miyah Watford. Watford leads the team with four goals on 18 shots this season, with one game-winner.
- In the goal, Jenna Villacres has seen all 379:03 for the Racers this season, registering 33 saves.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT . . . LOYOLA CHICAGO |
- At 1-3 this season, the Ramblers have a goal margin of -8 this season, averaging 1.00 goal a game to opponents 3.00.
- Tataryn Aleksa leads the team with two goals this season, while Megan Nemec has registered one goal and two assists.
- In the goal, Grace Droessler and Maddie Hausmann have split time between the team's first four games. Droessler leads the team with nine saves, but has allowed seven goals.
LUEBBERT GETS BACK TO HER SCORING WAYS |
- Failing to score a goal in the first three games of the season — albeit with three assists — senior Sarah Luebbert found the back of the net twice in a 3-2, double-overtime win over Xavier on Sunday.
- Luebbert scored in the second minute to give Mizzou an early lead, but her best moment came in the second overtime period, scoring the game-winner on a penalty kick.
- Luebbert is now second on the team with seven points (two goals, three assists).
- The senior now has 23 goals on her career, moving her closer to Michelle Collins (2006-09) for eighth on the career record book with 27.
OFFENSE FUELS A GREAT START |
- Coming off a season in which the Tigers only scored 16 goals, Mizzou hoped to put their offensive woes behind them in 2019. Four games in, and the Tigers have seen a massive improvement in their offensive.
- Mizzou already has two games this season where the team records at least three goals. The program did not have a single three-goal game in 2018.
- Already with nine goals on the season, four different players have reached the back of the net this season.
- The offensive showcase has the Tigers off to their best start to a season in 2012. Mizzou started that season with a 5-0 mark in their debut season in the SEC.
DEFENDING WALTON STADIUM |
- Mizzou will have plenty of chances to take advanatge of the friendly confines of Audrey J. Walton Stadium in 2019.
- The Tigers will play 12 of their 18 games at Walton Stadium, including six-straight home games from Aug. 29-Sept. 15.
- Since joining the SEC, beginning with the 2012 season, Mizzou has gone a combined 47-17-7 at home — a combined winning percentage of .711 over the last seven seasons.
