COLUMBIA, Mo. – With the kick off to Mizzou's 2019 football season just around the corner, the ever-popular "Tiger Talk" returns to the airwaves Aug. 29 with a season preview show that will air from the Food Bank's third-annual Taste of the Tigers, which will be held from 5-8 p.m. on the East concourse at Memorial Stadium.
Hosted by the Voice of the Tigers and six-time Missouri Sportscaster of the Year Mike Kelly, each show through the end of the football season will feature Head Coach Barry Odom and a pair of Mizzou football players. With the exception of Thanksgiving, there will be a show every week, with special guests slated to appear during the two open date weeks during the season.
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 5, and continuing through the end of the Mizzou men's and women's basketball seasons, "Tiger Talk's" new home will be Columbia's Cheerleader Pub and Grill, located at 1400 Cinnamon Hill Lane. The sports-themed pub and grill provides a dining experience that feels like an SEC museum, and features a cozy ambience, sophisticated décor, gourmet food and an elegant large bar.
"Cheerleader Pub and Grill is proud to be the new home for Tiger Talk and partner with Mizzou Athletics in providing a first class venue along with great food to our Tiger Fans," said Dr. Raman Puri, the Vice President/CFO, Puri Group of Enterprises. "We are excited to serve as fan headquarters for Mizzou Athletics as Cheerleader is where sports, fun and good food unite!"
The show will also be aired on numerous Tiger Radio Network affiliates around the state for those unable to attend in person. Visit MUTigers.com for affiliate listings.
The Tigers' 2019 season gets underway Aug. 31 with a road game at Wyoming followed by five-consecutive home games starting with a Sept. 7 game against West Virginia that will kick off at 11 a.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.
