Redshirt Freshman Represents Tigers on All-Conference Team
University of Missouri Women's Golf redshirt freshman Julia Bower (Columbia, Mo.) was honored Thursday by being named to the Southeastern Conference's All-Community Service Team, as announced by the league office.
Bower was cited for the exemplary way she represents Mizzou on and off the course. In addition to her stellar work in the classroom (where she has a 3.8 grade point average), Bower gave numerous hours during her busy days to support the following charities and causes throughout the 2018-19 academic year: Disciples on Campus, Mizzou's Veteran's Day service event and Mizzou's Day of Caring.
On the course, Bower got her first collegiate action in her second year with the Tiger program, and averaged 77.44 strokes per round in three tournaments. The 2016 Missouri Class 2 individual champion shot a collegiate best round of 74 at the MountainView Collegiate this spring, and had a season-best 227 for 54 holes last fall in the 2018 Johnie Imes Invitational, where she tied for 38th overall with rounds of 77-75-75.
