Tigers’ pitching issues 11 walks, as Volunteers take advantage time and time again
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 24 Mizzou Baseball (31-16-1, 10-11-1 SEC) saw its five-game winning streak come to an end Friday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, as No. 23 Tennessee produced a come-from-behind 11-5 victory.
It was all Tigers early on, as they held a 5-1 advantage heading to the bottom half of the fourth inning. The host Volunteers had an answer in a big way however, recording 10 unanswered runs to close out the evening.
Mizzou's lack of control on the mound was a big factor in Friday's final score, as it issued 11 total walks. The uncharacteristic wildness from the Tiger pitching staff was only their third, 10-plus walk outing of the season.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On Friday's series opener in Knoxville…
"There's a lot of ways to describe this one. It was tough. We came out well offensively and built that lead. (Jacob) Cantleberry wasn't quite on his game tonight. He was scuffling a bit and giving away too many free passes. You then go to a guy who hasn't given free passes all year (Bedell) and all of a sudden he gives freebies up. It's just something we have to flush away and move on from. It was a tough night all over for us. We have to be better than that."
