
Seventeen @MizzouSwimDive Tigers Claim All-SEC Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Seventeen members of the Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned All-Southeastern Conference honors, the league announced on Wednesday (April 10). The 17 recipients are the most-ever for the Tigers, shattering the previous high of 10 set in 2016.
The All-SEC first team consists of the top finisher in each event at the SEC Championships, and the second team consists of the second- and third-place finishers in each event. The All-Freshman Teams consist of any redshirt or true freshman who finished either in the top eight or is the highest scoring freshman of each event at the SEC Championships, excluding relay events.
Four Tigers, senior Mikel Schreuders (Oranjestad, Aruba), juniors Daniel Hein (Sycamore, Ill.) and Caleb Hicks (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and freshman Danny Kovac (Fort Collins, Colo.) claimed spots on the first team after winning the men's 400 medley relay at the SEC Championships, which was Mizzou's first-ever men's conference relay title. Schreuders also became the first Mizzou men's swimmer to win an SEC title with gold in the 200 free. Both Schreuders and the relay notched meet record times to take home their respective wins.
A total of 11 Tigers earns spots on the All-SEC second team: seniors Annie Ochitwa (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and Kyle Goodwin (Aurora, Colo.), juniors Nick Alexander (St. Louis, Mo.), Haley Hynes (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Giovanny Lima (Sao Paulo, Brazil), sophomores Sammie Jo Porter (Flower Mound, Texas) and Sarah Thompson (Collierville, Tenn.) and freshmen Jack Dahlgren (Victoria, Minn.), Kayla Jones (St. Charles, ill.), Megan Keil (Derby, Kan.) and Kyle Leach (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
Alexander posted a runner-up finish in the men's 200 IM to secure his second team selection, while Goodwin and Ochitwa each took home third-place finishes, on men's 1-meter springboard and in the women's 100 fly, respectively.
Four Missouri relays also placed in the top three at the Championships. The women's 200 medley relay, consisting of Hynes, Jones, Ochitwa and Thompson, and the women's 400 free relay of Ochitwa, Thompson, Porter and Hynes both claimed runner-up honors, as did the men's 800 free relay of Schreuders, Lima, Dahlgren and Leach. Additionally, the quartet of Ochitwa, Thompson, Hynes and Keil placed third in the women's 200 free relay.
Four Tigers, Dahlgren, Kovac and freshmen Ike Khamis (Richmond, Ind.) and Sarah Rousseau (Melbourne, Fla.), all earned All-Freshman Team recognition. All four posted top eight finishes at the Championships to earn their accolades. Khamis and Rousseau posted identical fifth-place finishes on men's and women's platform diving, Kovac placed fifth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 fly, and Dahlgren was fifth in the 200 free and eighth in the 200 back.
