
Women's @MizzouSwimDive Finishes 22nd at NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas. – The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team concluded action at the 2019 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with All-America honorable mention accolades in by one individual and one relay on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
The Tigers placed 22nd overall in the team standings with 51 points. Over three days of action, senior Annie Ochitwa (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) won honorable mention honors in two events and junior Haley Hynes (Lee's Summit, Mo.) claimed accolades in one. Additionally, three Tiger relays, the 200 and 400 free relays and the 200 medley relays, earned honorable mention honors as well.
KEY PERFORMANCES
In her final individual race, Ochitwa took second in the 100 free consolation final for a 10th-place finish in 47.81. It was the fifth individual All-America honorable mention honor of her collegiate career, as well as the second of the 2019 Championships, as she also placed ninth in the 100 fly.
The Tigers also earned a return swim in the 400 free relay on Saturday, where they finished 16th overall. Mizzou's quartet of Ochitwa, sophomores Sarah Thompson (Collierville, Tenn.) and Sammie Jo Porter (Flower Mound, Texas) and Hynes clocked a 3:14.95 in finals, after a 3:14.12 in prelims, to take home honorable mention accolades in the final event of the meet.
In addition to Ochitwa, seniors Payton Conrad (Omaha, Neb.), Kylie Dahlgren (Victoria, Minn.) and Courtney Evensen (Golden Valley, Minn.) and junior Jennifer King (Glasgow, Scotland) competed in individual events on Saturday.
In the diving well, Conrad posted a five-round total of 222.2, including two dives of 51 points or higher, to place 33rd overall.
Dahlgren and King both concluded their Championships in the 200 back, where Dahlgren swam a personal-best 1:54.09 to finish 28th and King clocked a 1:56.21 for 49th. Evensen swam the 1650 free, where she took 31st in a time of 16:15.93.
