@MizzouSwimDive Set for SEC Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams head to Athens, Ga., this week for the 2019 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. The five-day meet runs Tuesday, Feb. 19 - Saturday, Feb. 23 at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia.
The 2019 SEC Championships will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ throughout the entirety of the meet. Beginning on Wednesday, prelims begin at 10 a.m. ET and finals at 6 p.m. Tuesday's diving prelims begin at 10 a.m. while finals begin at 4:20 p.m. Live results can be found at www.sidearmstats.com/ugeorgia/swimming, divemeets.com as well as through MeetMobile.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Last season the Tiger men finished fifth with 794.5 points, while the women placed sixth with 739 point.
- Two currrent Tiger individuals and one relay notched runner-up finishes at the 2018 SEC Championships.
- Mikel Schreuders and Jacob Wielinski placed second, as Schreuders touched second in the 100 free and Wielinski was second in the 1650 free. Additionally, the men's 800 free relay team of Schreuders, Sam Coffman, Giovanny Lima and Grant Reed finished second.
- A total of 19 Tigers enter SECs ranked among the top 25 in their respective events.
- In fact, six Tigers own top 10 times in their events. On the women's side, junior Haley Hynes ranks third in the 100 back, senior Annie Ochitwa is eighth in the 100 fly, and sophomore Sarah Thompson ranks ninth in the 100 back.
- For the men, junior Nick Alexander is sixth in the 200 back and seventh in the 200 IM, Schreuders ranks eighth in the 100 free and 10th in the 200 free, and senior Alex Walton is ninth in the 400 IM.
- Four Missouri relays earned A cuts throughout the season. The men have A cuts in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 400 medley relay, and the women own an A cut in the 200 free relay.
- Six men's and seven women's SEC programs enter the Championships ranked in the top 25 of the latest polls. On the men's side, Florida leads the way in sixth, followed by Tennessee (ninth), Texas A&M (10th), Georgia (12th), Mizzou (16th) and Alabama (18th). For the women, Auburn enters at seventh, while Florida is eighth, Tennessee is ninth, Texas A&M is 11th, Georgia is 13th, Kentucky is 14th and Mizzou is 20th.
MIZZOU AT THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
- 2019 marks Mizzou's seventh season in the Southeastern Conference
- The Tiger men own finishes of fifth (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018) and sixth (2015), while the women own finishes of fifth (2016), sixth (2017 and 2018), eighth (2013 and 2015) and ninth (2014)
- Four Tigers have combined to win five SEC individual titles
- In 2013, David Bonuchi swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards en route to SEC High-Meet Scorer and Male Diver of the Year honors
- Also in 2013, Loren Figueroa claimed the women's 1-meter crown
- Missouri also took home the women's 1-meter title in 2017 as Lauren Reedy placed first
- Katharine Ross won Mizzou's first SEC swimming title as she won the 2016 women's 100 breast title

- Spectator may park in the East Campus Parking Deck, which is located in front of the Ramsey Center. The daily fee to park is $5.00 with in and out privileges.

- Preliminary pass (good for one morning session) $10 (adult) $5 (student)
- Finals pass (good for one evening session) $15 (adult) $10 (student)
CLEAR BAG POLICY
- University of Georgia Athletics Association has adopted a clear bag policy for the safety of all in attendance. This will not apply to working with the need for bags and team personnel.
