#ShowMe Mizzou Game Notes
Series History vs. Florida A&M
- Tuesday will mark the Tigers and Rattlers' first-ever meeting.
Number of Tigers Make Debut at North Florida
- With 21 newcomers on the 2019 Mizzou roster, it's no surprise that countless Tigers made their team debut this past weekend at North Florida.
- Transfers Thomas Broyles, Clayton Peterson, Art Joven, Jacob Cantleberry, Austin James, Lukas Veinbergs, Peter Zimmerman and Trey Dillard saw time against the Ospreys, while true freshmen Josh Holt Jr., Tre Morris and Luke Mann also appeared.
- At the plate, Zimmerman and A. Peterson enjoyed the most success, hitting .375 and .333, respectively. On the bump, Cantleberry stole the spotlight with 6.0 scoreless frames Sunday in the Tigers' series finale.
Deeper Look into Cantleberry's Outstanding Debut
- Junior transfer LHP Cantleberry was the star of Mizzou and North Florida's series finale (Feb. 17), as he tossed 6.0 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts in his Tiger debut.
- It marked the most strikeouts by a Mizzou pitcher in his debut since Reggie McClain also tallied 10 punch outs versus Iona on Feb. 13, 2015.
- Cantleberry consistently had the Ospreys' offense off-balance, as he held their batters to three hits and multiple strikeouts in four innings.
- Perhaps his most impressive accomplishment was striking out North Florida's leadoff man (Wes Weeks) three consecutive times. Entering Sunday's series finale he was virtually unstoppable, hitting an incredible .889 (8-for-9).
Misner Jumps Out to Hot Start in Jacksonville
- Junior 1B/OF Kameron Misner entered the 2019 opener with endless Preseason All-America accolades and the star Tiger didn't disappoint against North Florida.
- The Poplar Bluff, Missouri, native led the team in average (.400), hits (4), doubles (1), home runs (2), RBI (3), total bases (11), on-base percentage (.571) and slugging percentage (1.100).
- In Mizzou's lone win of the series, Misner exploded for two home runs and three RBI Saturday against the Ospreys. It marked his second career multi-home run effort at the plate.
- Misner showed off his 5-tool talent in Jacksonville, also going a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases against the Ospreys.
