Junior 1B records a pair of HR, 3 total RBI to lead Tiger offense
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It was another tight matchup Saturday at Dusty Rhodes Field, as Mizzou Baseball (1-1) escaped with a 5-4 victory over North Florida.

Following a shaky start by the Mizzou pitching staff, sophomore RHP Konnor Ash, senior RHP Cameron Dulle and junior LHP TJ Sikkema tallied six consecutive scoreless innings out of the bullpen to help secure the victory.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On the Tigers' first win of the 2019 campaign…
"Nobody said it was going to be easy. Today definitely wasn't an easy game for us. We battled. We got off to a rough start, but were able to quickly bounce back with a scoreless second inning. Jordan Gubelman did a great job. With the bases loaded he had to fill the strike zone and Austin James made a nice play at third base to get us rolling again. I'm really proud of the resiliency our guys showed. It was the same type of game from last night, but we were able to come out on top today."
On the Tigers' offensive effort today…
"I thought offensively we did a better job. We still need to find a way to open up and put pressure on the opposition and have a big inning. Instead of scoring one run at a time, we really need to bear down and put a crooked number on the scoreboard."
On the bullpen stepping up Saturday…
"No doubt. I thought Gubelman threw well in the third inning. He came in and did a good job. Then Ash, Dulle and Sikkema all did outstanding jobs on the mound."
