Storylines
- Mizzou is 5-6 all-time vs. Vanderbilt. Mizzou has won the last two meetings and is looking for its third consecutive victory over the Commodores for the first time in program history. Last season, Mizzou downed Vanderbilt on the road for the first time in the series history. Current Tigers Jeremiah Tilmon, Jordan Geist and Kevin Puryear combined for 22 points in that win.
- Head coach Cuonzo Martin is 5-2 vs. Vanderbilt in his career.
- Mizzou has never lost four consecutive games during the Martin coaching era.
- Senior Jordan Geist has now reached double figures 13 times in the last 16 games, averaging more than 15 points per game in that span. He recently posted a season-high 25 points in Mizzou's last home game vs. LSU and has scored 20+ points in a game five times this season after notching 15+ just six times in his previous two seasons combined.
- Geist is one of four players in the SEC to rank in the Top 20 in scoring (13.6 PPG) and Top 10 in assists (3.4) during league play alongside Tremont Waters, Terence Davis and Jared Harper.
- Mizzou has held opponents to 69 or fewer points 31 times in the Martin era, which amounts to 59.6 percent of the games with him at the helm. When the Tigers have done so this season, they are 10-0.
- Mizzou is attacking the glass this season. It has outrebounded its opponent 13 times in 19 games this season. The Tigers have done that 35 times in 52 games during the Martin era. Mizzou is limiting opponents to 33.1 rebounds per game, which ranks fourth in the SEC.

Rally For Rhyan
- Mizzou is hosting its fourth annual Rally For Rhyan game this season, which raises awareness and donations for pediatric cancer research.
- The Rally for Rhyan game began after Rhyan Loos, the daughter of former Mizzou assistant coach and now Assistant Athletic Director for Major Gifts, Brad Loos, was diagnosed in 2015 with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. It was created to rally the entire Mizzou community and build a large-scale effort to fight the disease, help Rhyan and continue to raise money for pediatric cancer research. After a long and tough battle, Rhyan has now been disease-free for nearly two years!
- Mizzou has helped raised roughly $175,000 for pediatric cancer research through Rally for Rhyan, including a record-$60,000 at last year's game.
- Mizzou is 3-0 during Rally For Rhyan games after a thrilling overtime win over Mississippi State a season ago. The Tigers downed Arkansas in 2017 and Tennessee in 2016.
- At every Rally for Rhyan game, Mizzou's players wear the name of a child who is or has battled pediatric cancer on their pregame warmup shirts. Mizzou senior Kevin Puryear was hand-selected by Rhyan to wear her name on his warmup shirt. He is averaging 15 points per game over three previous Rally for Rhyan games and hit the game-winning shot against Mississippi State a season ago.

- Geist has improved his scoring average from 7.3 PPG to 13.8 PPG in one season. He is one of five players not named Preseason All-SEC to rank in the Top 14 in the league in scoring. Mizzou is 5-2 when he is the leading scorer this season.
