Tiger LT Led a dominant offensive performance as the Tigers rolled to a 38-27 win over Ole Miss
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football senior LT Yasir Durant (Philadelphia, Pa.) is the SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week, announced Monday by the league office. This is the first career SEC weekly honor for Durant and this is the fourth weekly league honor for Mizzou this season, joining Defensive Player of the Week winners LB Nick Bolton (Sept. 9) and LB Cale Garrett (Sept. 23 and Oct. 7).
Durant led a dominant offensive performance as the Tigers rolled to a 38-27 win over Ole Miss last Saturday that improved Mizzou's record to 5-1, including five straight wins. The Tigers are now 2-0 in SEC play and sit atop the SEC East standings.
Mizzou racked up a season-high 562 yards of total offense, and punted only once in the game. The Tiger offense was very balanced against the Rebels, gaining 329 yards in the air, while also rushing for 233 yards, and averaged an impressive 7.41 yards per snap on the night. Durant and his offensive line mates controlled the line of scrimmage from the start, and the Tigers ended the game with a huge 33:31-to-26:29 advantage in time of possession.
The Tigers were called for a season-low two penalties on the night, for 26 yards, and converted a season-high nine third downs, going 9-of-15 overall (60.0 percent).
