COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling's two-time NCAA All-American Jaydin Eierman (Columbia, Mo.) will wrestle at the Ziolkowski Memorial as part of USA Wrestling's Men's Freestyle roster this Friday (Sept. 7) in Warsaw, Poland. Eierman will compete at the 65kg weight class (143 pounds), one of three wrestlers at that weight on the world freestyle roster.
Action begins at 3 a.m. (CT) Friday with the preliminary rounds. Eierman's 65kg weight class is due up second in the freestyle competition. Fans are encouraged to follow @USAWrestling for updates of his performance Friday. Should he advance, the finals will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) Saturday (Sept. 8). The repechage rounds begin at 3 a.m. (CT) Saturday.
Eierman was named MAC Wrestler of the Year after earning All-America honors for the second consecutive season in 2017-18, winning his second MAC Championship, both at 141 pounds. He earned the team's co-Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Year at end-of-the-year banquet after recording a mark of 32-3 on the season, including a perfect 16-0 mark in duals, while winning 24 matches by bonus points (16 falls, three technical falls and five major decisions). He set career highs in wins (32), dual wins (16) and falls (16), ranking second on the team in wins and falls, and third in dual wins. Eierman's 16 falls last year rank ninth in program history for a single season.
Eierman is one of three grapplers wrestling this weekend who are members of the USA Wrestling 2018-19 Freestyle National Team. The other two are Joe Colon of Fresno, Calif., and Kyven Gadson of Ames, Iowa.
