QB Lock, TE Okwuegbunam and P Fatony each earn first team honors to highlight picks from league’s media
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Southeastern Conference, at the conclusion of its annual media days, announced the annual media-selected Preseason All-SEC Team Friday (July 20) and Mizzou Football had six players earn Preseason All-SEC honors. Senior QB Drew Lock, sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam and senior P Corey Fatony each earned preseason first team honors. Senior DT Terry Beckner, Jr., and junior K Tucker McCann were tabbed second-team selections while WR Emanuel Hall was a third-team pick.
The six selections are Mizzou's most ever on the media's preseason All-SEC Team since joining the league in 2012. In fact, Mizzou had just five selections on the team in the previous three seasons combined and this year Mizzou has six. Lock, Okwuegbunam and Fatony are the first Mizzou players since joining the league to be named to the media's Preseason All-SEC First Team.
Mizzou Football will open the 2018 season on Sept. 1, 2018, against UT Martin at Memorial Stadium.
