The Tigers are making their 12th appearance in postseason play
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf heads to Tallahassee, Florida, for its 12th appearance in NCAA postseason play as the Tigers were selected as the No. 15 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tallahassee Regional. Mizzou will compete from May 7-9 in hopes of snagging a spot at the 2018 NCAA Championship Finals in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Tigers will be paired with Denver and Coastal Carolina on the course on Monday. The trio of squads begins teeing off at 8:50 a.m. CT.
This is the seventh time Mizzou has advanced to an NCAA Regional under the direction of head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer. The last time the Tigers advanced to NCAA postseason play was in 2016, when they finished 12th at the East Regional.
There are 18 total teams competing in the Tallahassee Regional. Those competing alongside Mizzou include No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Furman, No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Washington, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Florida State, No. 8 Clemson, No. 9 Georgia, No. 10 Tennessee, No. 11 UNLV, No. 12 Kennesaw State, No. 13 Denver, No. 14 Coastal Carolina, No. 16 College of Charleston, No. 17 Richmond, No. 18 Albany.
Mizzou's lineup at the 2018 NCAA Tallahassee Regional features sophomore Jessica Yuen, who recently received Second Team All-SEC honors, and junior Emma Allen, junior Cayce Hendrickson, senior Clara Young, and junior Cherise Otter.
This will be the second time this season that the Tigers will compete at the Don Veller Seminole Course after placing sixth at the Florida State Match-Up in February. Young placed T-3 individually and matched her season-low 18-hole round with a 3-under 68. Allen also snagged a Top-10 spot at the Match-Up finishing T-6 overall and firing two under-par rounds for the week.
The last time Mizzou advanced to an NCAA Regional as a team was in 2016 at the Shoal Creek Regional in Shoal Creek, Alabama. Allen tied individually for 29th along with former Tiger, Jessica Meek, after recording 15-over through 54 holes.
