Buckley earns Top-20 individual finish
Sea Island, Georgia - The Mizzou Men's Golf team wrapped up play the 2018 SEC Championship in Sea Island, Georgia, on Friday. The tournament took place at the Sea Island Golf Club, with stroke play occurring from April 27-29. The Tigers did not manage to qualify for the match play quarterfinals on Saturday, finishing 14th in stroke play.
Senior Hayden Buckley finished tied for 16th, firing a 1-over par 211 over three rounds. Buckley shot a 1-under 69 on the Par 70 course on Friday to cap his week on a high note. In that round, the senior standout tallied four birdies, including three in a row on his final three holes.
Senior Trevor Ullestad shot a 9-over par 219 over three rounds, sandwiching a 75 with a pair of 2-over 72s in the first and third rounds. Ullestad tied for 46th overall.
Rory Franssen, Matt Echelmeier and Jamie Stewart placed T-54th, 66th and T-67th with scores of 222, 225 and 226, respectively.
The Tigers now await their NCAA Regional fate. The NCAA Selection Show airs Wednesday, May 2 on the Golf Channel. The program starts at 4:30 p.m. CT.
