Hear From Coach Fogue
On Saturday's loss…
"We jumped on the scoreboard first again today, which is usually the precursor to good things for us this season. Unfortunately, South Carolina's offense had an answer and they kept pouring it on as the game went on. We had a lot of opportunities to score some more runs, including stranding two in the second and third inning. We're still searching for that complete game this weekend and we'll have one more crack at it Sunday."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Romaine continued her strong weekend with her second-straight multi-hit game. The Chino Hills, California, native now has nine multi-hit efforts on the year.
- Overall, three Tiger batters produced a multi-hit game at the plate with Pierce and Martin joining Romaine. Pierce sits with a team-best 16 multi-hit games this season, while Martin jumped up to five overall on the year.
- Edwards continued her recent surge at the plate with a two-run home run in the seventh inning. She's batting .333 with four RBI through the series' opening two contests.
- Over the Tigers' last six games played, Edwards has recorded a team-best .500 average with two home runs and eight RBI.
- The Moore, Oklahoma, native has quietly jumped up several offensive categories amongst Mizzou hitters. Overall this season, Edwards' five home runs (T-4th) and 22 RBI (T-5th) each rank top 5 on the team. In SEC only action, her nine RBI are tied for first with Martin.
