COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 19 Missouri gymnastics team hits the road for a non-conference tri-meet this weekend. The Tigers face Iowa and host and No. 25 Iowa State on Friday, March 9 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. The meet will be available on Cyclones.tv for a fee.

- Mizzou moved up one spot to 19th in the national rankings
- The Tigers posted one of the biggest wins in program history on March 2 when the squad took down No. 5 Florida, 196.925-196.625 at the Hearnes Center
- It was Mizzou's first-ever win over the Gators, as the team entered the matchup 0-22 all-time in the series
- The Tigers' victory also marked the squad's third top 10 win of the season, as the team defeated Arkansas twice when the Razorbacks were ranked No. 8 (Feb. 16) and No. 10 (Jan. 19)
- The 196.925 was a season-high team score, besting the 196.625 set in a tri-meet at Illinois on Feb. 25
- Missouri also tallied season-best event scores of 49.375 on floor and 49.275 on bars against Florida
- Four different Tigers won or tied for event titles in a tri-meet with Illinois and UIC on Feb. 25
- Sophomore Aspen Tucker took home the all-around (39.325) and vault (9.850) crowns, senior Shauna Miller tied for the bars (9.900) win, junior Britney Ward claimed the beam (9.925) title, and junior Michaelee Turner shared the floor (9.900) crown
- At the tri-meet, Mizzou scored a 49.150 or better on three of four events, including a 49.325 on floor, 49.250 on bars and a 49.150 on beam

- Head Coach Shannon Welker enters his fifth season at the helm of the Tiger program. In his first four years in Columbia, Welker has Mizzou back in the national spotlight. In 2017, the Tigers finished 17th in the national ranking. The 2017 season also saw Mizzou go 3-4 in Southeastern Conference dual meet action, with wins over No. 12 Arkansas, No. 12 Kentucky and No. 18 Auburn. The Tigers entered the season with just one SEC dual win in program history
LAST TIME OUT
- In a lights-out performance, the Mizzou gymnastics team defeated No. 5 Florida for the first time in program history on March 2, earning a 196.925-196.700 win. The Tigers, who easily scored a season-best score, entered the meet 0-22 all-time against the Gators
- The 196.925 also marked the seventh-highest team score in program history
- The victory was also Missouri's third top 10 win of the season, as the team also defeated Arkansas twice when the Razorbacks were ranked No. 8 (Feb. 16) and No. 10 (Jan. 19)
- With Mizzou clinging to a slim 147.550-147.475 lead after the third rotation, the Tigers responded with a season-high 49.375 on floor to keep the Gators at bay and notch the win. The final three Tiger competitors of the evening, senior Kennedi Harris and sophomores Mary Nicholson and Aspen Tucker all tallied 9.900s to secure the victory
- Florida held a 49.425-49.200 edge after the first rotation. The team total, the second-highest score on the apparatus for the Tigers in 2018, was paced by a pair of 9.875s from Harris and junior Madeleine Huber. Also earning scores of 9.825 or better were junior Britney Ward with a 9.850 and Tucker, who went 9.825, and
- A season-high bars tally of 49.275 in the second rotation kept Mizzou within striking distance, as Florida held a 98.675-98.475 advantage. Senior Shauna Miller scored a career-best 9.925 to finish second overall in the event. Junior Allison Bower, Huber and redshirt sophomore Morgan Porter each went 9.850.
- Mizzou took the lead over the Gators in the third rotation, as the Tigers earned a 49.075 on beam while the Gators went 48.800 on floor. Porter and Kelly led the way with 9.850s, and Tucker and Ward went 9.825s

- The Tigers host Lindenwood and Southeast Missouri on Friday, March 16 at the Hearnes Center. Following the meet Missouri will honor its senior class
MISSOURI RANKED 19TH IN LATEST NATIONAL POLL
- Mizzou moved up one spot in the national rankings to No. 19
- The rankings are determined by regional qualifying score. To get an RQS, a team's three highest away scores and the next three highest scores are added together. The highest score is dropped, then that number is divided by five for the RQS
- Missouri was 17th in the preseason coaches poll, announced on Dec. 11
- That was the highest preseason ranking for the Tigers since prior to the 2011 season, when they were chosen 13th
TIGERS DEFEAT THE GATORS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY
- The Tigers defeated the No. 5 Gators for the first-time ever on March 2, when the squad earned a 196.925-196.625
- Missouri entered the meet 0-22 all-time against Florida
- The 196.925 was a season best by 0.3, bettering the 196.625 recorded the previous meet on Feb. 25
- The win also marked Mizzou's third top 10 win of the season
- Mizzou also defeated Arkansas twice this year while the Razorbacks were ranked in the top 10

TIGERS POST THIRD TOP 10 WIN OF THE SEASON
- Mizzou has three top 10 wins on the season, two over the Arkansas Razorbacks and one over the Florida Gators
