COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team travels to Columbus, Ohio to compete at the 2018 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, March 14-17, at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of The Ohio State University.
Competition gets underway Wednesday evening with the 800 free relay. On Thursday and Saturday, swimming prelims begin at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. CT) and finals at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT), while Friday's schedule is 9 a.m. ET (8 a.m. CT) for prelims and 5 p.m. ET (4 p.m. CT) for finals. Diving prelims being at 12:30 p.m. ET (11:30 p.m. CT) on Thursday and Friday and 12:15 p.m. ET (11:15 p.m. CT) on Saturday. All but two sessions will be streamed on BuckeyeVision.com. Friday finals will air live on ESPNU and Saturday finals will be available on ESPN3.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Mizzou qualified 11 individuals, including a program-record-tying nine swimmers and two divers
- The nine swimmers matches last year's total for the most in school history
- Missouri's qualifiers include seniors Sharli Brady, Kendra Kieser, Madeline McKernan, Erin Metzger-Seymour, Hannah Stevens and Kira Zubar, juniors Kylie Dahlgren, Courtney Evensen and Annie Ochitwa, sophomore Haley Hynes and freshman Sarah Thompson
- Joining the individual qualifiers are relay-only swimmers Maddie Gehrke, Sammie Jo Porter, Lauren Savoy and Emily Snyder
- Three Tigers enter the meet with top 10 seeds. Brady is seventh in the 400 IM, Stevens seventh in the 100 back and Ochitwa is 10th in the 100 free
- Brady, McKernan, Ochitwa, Stevens and Zubar all enter the meet with previous individual All-America honors to their name. Brady, McKernan and Stevens all own individual All-America first team honors, while Ochitwa and Zubar are All-America honorable mention honorees
- Four Tigers, Dahlgren, Evensen, Kieser and Thompson, earned their first NCAA Championships berths in 2018
- The Tigers finished sixth at last month's SEC Championships
- Last season, Mizzou placed 13th at the NCAA Championships with 135 points
- Head Coach Greg Rhodenbaugh is in his eighth season at the helm of the Tigers. Under his direction, the the women have posted their top five NCAA finishes ever, including a record 11th-place finish in 2016
