- Mizzou leads the all-time series over Illinois, 8-1.
- In last year's matchup, the Tigers claimed a 5-1 victory over the Fighting Illini (March 8, 2017).
- Prior to last year's meeting, the duo also met at Lindenwood in 2015 and 2014.
Romaine, Sanchez & Pierce Enjoying Strong First Half of Season
- Junior Kolby Romaine was a bright spot for the Tigers' offense despite the trio of losses last weekend at No. 4 Tennessee, as she hit safely in all three games played and produced a .556 average (5-for-9) with two runs scored, one double, one home run and two RBI.
- She enters Wednesday's doubleheader with a 2018 season-high hitting streak of five games.
- Redshirt junior Amanda Sanchez once again received immense respect by the opposing head coach, as Tennessee either walked or plunked the Tiger third baseman in half of her plate appearances.
- The West Covina, California, native maintained her status as one of the SEC and NCAA's top hitters through the near-halfway point of the 2018 campaign. Sanchez's national rankings entering this week include third in OBP (.632), sixth in batting average (.522), 12th in total bases (65), 14th in SLG% (.942) and 16th in hits (36). She's also currently the Southeastern Conference leader in average, hits and OBP.
- Following a .375 average in the Tennessee series this past weekend, junior Rylee Pierce continues to put together a career year at the plate. Among Mizzou batters, she ranks second in average (.417), second in hits (30), T-2nd in home runs (4), third in runs scored (20) and T-4th in doubles (4).
