On Saturday's loss in Knoxville…
"Today was tough for our whole group. We struggled to make contact at the plate, while Tennessee's hitters did a good job of putting the ball in play and making things happen. I was pleased with Danielle (Baumgartner) entering in a tough spot late and giving us a chance. We need to collectively re-group tonight and bounce back quickly tomorrow in the series finale."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Amanda Sanchez continues to be an on-base machine, drawing a walk and getting hit by a pitch. She's reached base in five of seven plate appearances this weekend and has extended her safely reached base streak to 22 consecutive games.
- The impressive streak ranks T-11th in Mizzou Softball history and is one game shy of cracking the top-10.
- Romaine was responsible for the Tigers' lone hit Saturday, as she extended her personal hitting streak to four straight. The Tiger junior continues to impress after her return from an injury last weekend, as she's hitting .423 (11-for-26) with four runs scored, one double, three home runs and 11 RBI over her past eight games played.
- Mizzou's one hit on offense was its lowest output this season. The previous season-low was three hits in a loss against Oregon State (Feb. 11). Saturday also marked the first time Mizzou had struck out 10-plus times at the plate this season.
