COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball and Mizzou Athletics are excited to announce that the third annual #RallyForRhyan Game will take place Saturday, Feb. 10, as the Tigers host Mississippi State for a 1 p.m. CT tipoff at Mizzou Arena that will be nationally-televised on ESPN.
Named after Mizzou Athletics' staff member Brad Loos' seven-year old daughter, Rhyan, the #RallyForRhyan movement began in support of Rhyan's ongoing fight against pediatric cancer. Mizzou Men's Basketball has helped raise more than $100,000 in its first two #RallyForRhyan games, including some $54,000 during last year's game against Arkansas, an 83-78 Tiger victory.
While Mizzou Arena is sold-out on a season ticket basis in 2017-18, numerous other activities are planned around the Mississippi State to generate funds going toward the #RallyForRhyan campaign to raise awareness and fund further pediatric cancer research. Cash donations will again be accepted on the concourse throughout the game, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction is also planned.
Also serving as the team's annual Gold Rush Game, fans are encouraged to wear gold, and a specially-designed gold #RallyForRhyan t-shirts will again be available exclusively through the Tiger Team Store, with all proceeds donated toward pediatric cancer research. T-shirts ($15) are available in-person at the Memorial Stadium store location or on game day at Mizzou Arena, the campus bookstore or online here.
The Tigers will wear #RallyForRhyan t-shirts during pre-game warm-ups and each shirt will have the name of a local child who is battling cancer on the back of the players' warm-up.
