Graduate senior guard scored a season-high 27 points in Mizzou’s win at Ole Miss; 22 points vs. Mississippi State
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Mizzou Men's Basketball graduate senior guard Kassius Robertson (Toronto, Ontario) has been named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, it was announced by the league office Monday. The honor marks the first time an SEC player has earned the award in back-to-back weeks this season.
Robertson averaged 24.5 points in Mizzou's two league wins as he helped lead the Tigers' to their first-ever four-game SEC winning streak, scoring a season-high 27 points at Ole Miss (Feb. 6) and 22 points in the overtime victory over Mississippi State (Feb. 10).
An expert outside shooter, Robertson drained five three-pointers in both Mizzou wins for the sixth and seventh times this season he has sank five-or-more triples in a game. Seven games with five-or-more three-pointers surpasses his previous career-best of five in a season. Robertson's season total of 77 three-pointers currently ranks sixth-most on Mizzou's all-time single-season chart for the senior class.
Robertson has averaged an outstanding 18.3 points per game during Mizzou's conference schedule to rank fourth in the league in scoring, while also leading the league in minutes per game (38.3).
Robertson's honor is the eighth time a Tiger has earned SEC Player of the Week since Mizzou joined the conference for the 2012-13 season.
