Tigers head to Clearwater, Fla., next weekend for six more games
TEMPE, Ariz. – Mizzou Softball hung tight with a quality opponent for the second consecutive game, but ultimately fell 3-1 to Oregon State Sunday in its Kajikawa Classic finale. The Tigers' offense was limited to one run on three hits, but had ample scoring opportunities late in the game. Mizzou stranded two runners in both the fifth and sixth inning.

"We had a better outing from our pitchers today and I was glad to see that. We had some chances on offense, but just needed a little better timely hitting. We will have three good practices this week and address the adjustments we need to make."

- Kessinger's 14-game hitting streak concluded after going hitless against the Beavers. Her impressive streak joined Sami Fagan (2014), Jenna Marston (2013) and Jen Bruck (2007) for the T-7th longest hitting streak in program history.
- Romaine's two hit performance marked her team-leading third multi-hit game this season. She joined Amanda Sanchez, Cayla Kessinger and Regan Nash with two-plus multi-hit games over the season-opening weekend.
- With a walk today, Kessinger safely reached base in all five of the Tigers' games this weekend. Hatti Moore and Trenity Edwards aren't far behind, riding a four-game safely reached base streak.
- As a whole, Mizzou's offense performed well this weekend in Tempe. The Tigers hit .302 with 28 runs scored, six doubles, five home runs and 23 RBI.
- Individually, Nash (.308), Kessinger (.400), Romaine (.438) and Sanchez (.438) all starred at the plate. Edwards paced the team with two home runs and six RBI, while Sanchez and Romaine each added a team-best seven hits.

The Tigers continue their non-conference schedule next weekend at the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Invitational in Clearwater, Fla. Mizzou will play six games over a three-day period.
