@MizzouSoccer Announces Two Early Enrollees in 2019 Signing Class

Mizzou Soccer inked two future student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, announced Thursday, December 6 by head coach Bryan Blitz.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer inked two future student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, announced Thursday, December 6 by head coach Bryan Blitz. Both Morgan Davis and Eryka McIntyre will get to campus during the spring so they can participate in that phase of Mizzou's offseason program.

Davis comes to Mizzou as a strong defensive presence while McIntyre bolsters Mizzou's high-pressing attack. Both come from Texas, joining sophomore defender Momola Adesanmi, redshirt freshman goalkeeper Peyton Bauman and sophomore forward Morcquess Oliphant as Texans turned Tigers. Both are expected to make their debuts at Walton Soccer Stadium in the Fall of 2019.

"Morgan and Eryka are going to be assets for this program," Blitz said. "Eryka is such a versatile player, which shows in her ability to play all over the field. Her ability with her left foot is also amazing. Morgan, meanwhile, is going to help us on the back line. She is gritty, and that's the kind of defensive attitude we look for. Coming to campus early is not for everyone, but we all believe that it will give them both the head start they are looking as they enter into the tough Southeastern Conference."

Morgan Davis – Defender/Forward (Frisco, Tx.)

Davis comes to Mizzou as a decorated player out of Texas, having been a part of the Olympic Development Texas State Team. Davis was also named All-District and All-Region in 2017, as well as winning her high school's team MVP award, courtesy of her Area-best 21 goals. Davis chose Mizzou over Vanderbilt, Villanova, UNT and Georgia.

"I chose Mizzou because the moment I stepped on campus, I felt at home. The coaches, staff, and players were all very welcoming and made me want to be a part of the team. I was also attracted to the beautiful campus, strong academics, and the opportunity to attend a large university with an active student body."

"Morgan is one of the hardest working players I've ever coached. Although she is soft spoken, her impact on the field speaks rather loudly about how talented a player she has become." – Matt Grubb, Davis' coach at FC Dallas DA

Eryka McIntyre – Forward/Midfielder (Arlington, Tx.)

McIntyre comes to Columbia as a prolific attacking player. She had 32 goals and 13 assists as a sophomore, claiming a spot on the UIL Class 4A All-State First Team. She also helped her club team reach the national semifinals. McIntyre chose Mizzou over Miami, Oklahoma State and Georgia.

"When I first stepped onto the campus, I felt like it was a home away from home. After touring the Journalism School and talking to the academic advisor, I knew that this is where God wanted me to be. The university and soccer staff made me feel like family. Mizzou is a place where I feel I can grow and develop, not only as an athlete, but also as a student and overall person."

"As an attacking player, Eryka is constantly looking to penetrate the defense. She is quick, fast and dangerous. She is a natural leader and is motivated to compete at the highest level. Eryka will be a great addition to Mizzou's soccer program." – Jason Bates, McIntyre's club coach.
