Storylines
- Mizzou and Oregon State meet for the fourth time in program history and the first time since Dec. 1, 1984. The only other meetings came in 1982 and 1956, both Mizzou victories.
- Coach Martin is 6-1 all-time against Oregon State.
- Mizzou is 126-80 all-time against PAC 12 schools. The Tigers are seeking their first victory over a PAC 12 opponent since beating No. 18 UCLA, 80-71, on Dec. 7, 2013.
- Mizzou's trip to the Paradise Jam is the Tigers' first outside the continental U.S. since going 2-1 at the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis. This is Mizzou's first-ever Paradise Jam and first trip to the Virgin Islands.
- Mizzou is 9-1 all-time against teams in its half of the Paradise Jam bracket (2-1 vs. Oregon State, 2-0 vs. Kennesaw State and 5-0 vs. Old Dominion) and Coach Martin is 9-1 (6-1 vs. Oregon State, 3-0 vs. Kennesaw State and 0-0 vs. Old Dominion).
- Mizzou (20-13) was the nation's third-most improved team record-wise in 2017-18.
- After totaling just 42 rebounds a season ago, sophomore Mark Smith has 23 through three games as a Tiger. He is averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds, leading Mizzou in both categories. Smith is fifth in the SEC in total triples (9) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.450).
Puryear Continuing Strong Career
- Senior Kevin Puryear led Mizzou with 17 points and six rebounds in Friday's win over Kennesaw State. Mizzou is now 5-0 in the Martin era when Puryear is the leading scorer for the Tigers in a game.
- Puryear has appeared in 32 more career games than anyone else on Mizzou's roster, earning 92 career starts.
- Puryear became the 46th Tiger in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points late last season.
- Puryear is tied for 41st on Mizzou's all-time career scoring list with 1,043 career points and counting after 17 points vs. Kennesaw State on Friday. He is just three points shy of the Top 40 on that list, trailing Mizzou and NBA legend DeMarre Carroll, who scored 1,046 points at Mizzou.
- Puryear's 79.7 career free throw percentage ranks 11th all-time at Mizzou. He has shot above 82 percent from the charity stripe in two of his three campaigns.
- Sunday is Puryear's 22nd birthday.
