
@MizzouSwimDive Women Open SEC Action at Vanderbilt

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 15 Mizzou women's swimming team opens the Southeastern Conference portion of its 2018-19 schedule with a road meet at Vanderbilt on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m. CT. The meet, will take place at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn., includes swimming only.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tigers suffered losses to No. 6 Indiana (188-12) and No. 18 Notre Dame (211.5-88.5) at Indiana on Wednesday. Sophomore Sarah Thompson claimed her second 50 free win in as many meets as she clocked a 23.33 to take top honors in the event.
In the diving well, freshman Sarah Rousseau earned a top three finish after placing third on 3-meter. She posted a three-round total of 142.75, less than three points off second.
WOMEN'S 2018-19 OUTLOOK
Coming off a 15th-place finish at the 20018 NCAA Championships, this year's women's team returns five All-Americans: seniors Maddie Gehrke and Annie Ochitwa, junior Haley Hynes and sophomores Lauren Savoy and Sarah Thompson. Hynes, Ochitwa and Thompson join seniors Kylie Dahlgren and Courtney Evensen as 2018 NCAA Championships qualifiers.
GUYETT CLAIMS CSCAA NATIONAL OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS
Freshman Audrey Guyett claimed an individual national title at the 2018 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Collegiate Open Swim at Lone Star Lake in Lawrence, Kansas, on Sept. 22. Guyett also led the women to the team title.
Guyett won the women's race by just shy of a minute, as she finished the race in 1:03:06.31. Fellow freshman Ana Pozder held on for second-place in 1:03:07.28.
UP NEXT
The men's and women's swimming and diving programs play host to Kentucky and Arkansas (women only) in a two-day meet, Nov. 1-2, at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Nov. 1 competition will begin at 2 p.m., while action gets underway at 9 a.m. on Nov. 2.
