COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball manager Zack Shaw (Bates City, Mo.) was one of 30 athletes to accept an invitation to the 2019 USA Softball Men's National Team Selection Trials, USA Softball announced this past Thursday. The trials will span from January 1-6, at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater, Fla. Those athletes who accepted the invitation to try out will vie for 18 spots on the 2019 USA Softball MNT Training Team roster. From the 18 selected, a roster of 17 will compete in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men's World Championship, slated for June 13-23 in Prague, Czech Republic and select international events. The roster will then be trimmed to 15 athletes to participate in the Pan American Games, slated for July 22-August 1 in Lima, Peru.
During the selection process, athletes will participate in position drills as well as simulated games and be evaluated by the USA Softball Men's National Team Selection Committee (MNTSC).
