@MizzouSoccer closes preseason slate with Oklahoma State in Kansas City

COLUMBIA, Mo. – @MizzouSoccer closes its exhibition schedule this Friday at 7 p.m., as the Tigers travel to Kansas City, Missouri, to face Oklahoma State. Mizzou is coming off of a solid offensive performance against Missouri State, a game which the team won 6-0. However, the Tigers will be faced with a tough test Friday night, as the Big 12 Champion Cowgirls had a fantastic 2017 campaign, going 16-4-3 capped by an appearance in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

SERIES HISTORY

This will be the second year in a row that the Tigers and Cowgirls will face off in a preseason exhibition game. Last season, Oklahoma State won the meeting, defeating Mizzou 1-0 in Columbia, Missouri. The Cowgirls went ahead in the 63rd minute and would hang on to win the match.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

  • Sophomore Bella Alessi (Fort Collins, Colo.) made the most of her start up front, scoring twice against Missouri State on just two shots taken.
  • The freshman class had a major impact on the game against Missouri State. All six saw minutes on the pitch, and freshman Blythe Beldner (Wildwood, Mo.) scored off a beautiful assist from fellow freshman Julissa Cisneros (Moreno Valley, Calif.).
  • All three goalkeepers saw time against the Bears, each playing one period apiece. None of them allowed a goal, and redshirt freshman Peyton Bauman (Flower Mound, Texas) recorded a team-high two saves.

VIEWING INFORMATION

The game will not be broadcast on TV or on the radio, but will be played inside Swope Park in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
