COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball senior Regan Nash made history Tuesday (July 3) evening, as she became the first female ever to play inside the M.I.N.K. (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas) Summer Collegiate Baseball League.

The M.I.N.K. League began operation in 1910 and currently consists of eight teams across the Midwest. Nash, who's serving as an intern this summer for the St. Joseph Mustangs, received the opportunity to compete in one game and etch her name into the league record books.

In front of nearly 3,500 Mustangs fans inside Phil Welch Stadium, Nash got the call from manager Johnny Coy in the fourth inning. She sprinted to left field as a defensive replacement and received a thunderous applause by the home faithful.

Nash later received one at bat at the plate and struck out swinging. Despite the disappointing result, Mustangs fans, players and coaches were all smiles as they were witnesses to a groundbreaking moment in team and league history.
