All attention at practice has shifted toward Auburn as Mizzou prepares for its second SEC matchup of the season.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – There was an abundance of energy and enthusiasm on the Kadlec Practice Fields as Mizzou prepares for the opportunity to showcase its talent against the No. 15 ranked Auburn Tigers under the lights on Faurot Field. The team acknowledged that the results on the field this season have not properly reflected the work that has been put in and they know that changing that begins with trust, hard work and focusing on what they can control.
"We've got to stick to our plan," sophomore RB Damarea Crockett said. "Just go back to basics, start from the ground level, play from the line of scrimmage and win that line of scrimmage. At the end of the day, we just have to fight, win the line of scrimmage and get a push. It's simple. We're playing at home and we need to act like it by playing the game comfortably and with confidence."
Confidence can be found within each member of the team, but senior WR J'Mon Moore knows, the most powerful form of confidence comes from the whole team, trusting each other and working together, as one.

"All we can do is keep working," Moore said. "The most important thing that we need to do is just trust in each other. Trust in each other and go out there and play. We can't worry about anything outside of this team. We need to go and control what we can control. That's our main focus."
Between trusting in each other and following the game plan, Mizzou is confident that they have the talent necessary to turn the page on the young season and play up to its expectations. But in order to do so, senior DB Logan Cheadle understands that it starts with effort and energy on the practice fields.
"I think we just realized that it's us, the players, that have to step up," Cheadle said. "The coaches are doing everything that they can, putting the game plan in front of us, putting us in the right position. We just have to go out there and make plays, it's as simple as that. A big part of it is bringing energy out here in practice. We got a lot of energy out here and had a great practice today, and that's where it all starts, with the energy that you bring to the sport every day."
