Tigers return home for Mizzou Invite next weekend
ATHENS, Ga. – The Mizzou Tennis team wrapped up play at the Puerto Rico Fall Classic on Sunday, completing the round-robin of sorts with a doubles session vs. Clemson and a handful of singles matches at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The team of freshman Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) and sophomore Serena Nash (Bradford, England) earned the Tigers' lone win of the day, besting the Clemson doubles pair of Sydney Riley and Tate Schroeder, 6-4.
Sophomore Mackenzy Middlebrooks (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) forced a tiebreaker with a convincing 6-1 second-set win, but was unable to hold off No. 112-ranked Emma Kurtz of Vanderbilt in their singles match.
The Tigers return home to host the Mizzou Invite this Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 21-23 at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tigers will welcome Wichita State, Kansas State and Memphis for a series of individual singles and doubles matches over the course of the three days.
