Fans can attend in person at Buffalo Wild Wings or listen on radio network
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A longstanding tradition for Mizzou Football is switching nights this season, as the "Tiger Talk" weekly radio show hosted by the Voice of the Tigers, Mike Kelly, will move to Thursday nights in the fall. The show, which had traditionally been held on Monday evenings, is being moved to accommodate new NCAA legislation that provides for protected off days for student-athletes. Mizzou's designated off days are on Mondays, and the new rule prohibits MU student-athletes from taking part in the live show on that evening.
The show will be held live at Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbia at 7 p.m., with the 2017 season debut set for Thursday, August 31st, and fans are encouraged to attend. The show will also be aired on numerous Tiger Radio Network affiliates for those unable to make it in person. Visit here for an affiliate listing online.
"We're very grateful to Coach (Barry) Odom for being flexible and allowing us to intrude on his Thursday evenings," said Kelly, who has hosted Tiger Talk since the show began in 1989. "It's an hour where we really enjoy getting to know what's going on with the program, and over the years, the interaction with our amazing student-athletes has been such a great addition to the show. I'm glad we can make the adjustment to keep them part of it."
Head Coach Barry Odom's Tigers are less than two weeks away from the Sept. 2nd season/home opener against Missouri State at Faurot Field. Tickets are available for the season by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS locally), or by going online at MUTigers.com.
