COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team (2-0) travels for a two-match roadtrip this weekend for the third and fourth games of 2017. The Tigers head to Corvallis, Oregon, for a matchup against Oregon State on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. CT on the Pac-12 Networks. Missouri then returns to the midwest to face No. 14 Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Sunday's game will be available on BTN Plus.
TIGER TIDBITS
- The Tigers and Beavers are tied 0-0-1 in the all-time series, as the squads played to a 0-0 scoreless draw in their only meeting on Sept. 4, 2015
- Nebraska holds a 17-4 lead the the series
- Mizzou went a perfect 2-0 the opening weekend of the season, with a 3-1 win at Illinois on Aug. 18 and a 2-0 victory over Iowa State at home on Aug. 20
- All five of the Tigers' goals in the first two matches came in the second half

LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers went 2-0 on opening weekend, with a 3-1 road win at Illinois on Aug. 25 and a 2-0 shutout over Iowa State at home on Aug. 27
- Trailing 1-0 after the first half, Mizzou used second half goals from freshman Macy Trujillo, senior Jessica Johnson and redshirt sophomore Madison Lewis to earn the win.
- The Tigers also used two second half goals to defeat Iowa State on sunday
- Senior Savannah Trujillo put Mizzou up 1-0 early in the first half off an assist from sohpomore Sarah Luebbert
- Luebbert then added a goal of her own later in the half for Mizzou's 2-0 win
SECOND HALF SQUAD
- Two matches into the 2017 season the Tigers have proved to be a second half team
- All five of Mizzou's goals have come in the final 45 minutes of play, as the team has been shutout in the first half so far
- The trend is a continuation of the 2016 season, when the Tigers tallied 20 goals in the second half compared to only 14 in the first half.
- So far, Missouri has tallied goals in the 50th, 51st, 54th, 79th and 83rd minutes
- The lone goal allowed by the Tiger defense in 2017 came in the first half (44th minute)
LUEBBERT PICKING UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF
- Sophomore Sarah Luebbert leads the Tigers with five points on a goal and a team-high three assists only two games into 2017
- Her three assists rank second among all SEC players, behind only Ole Miss' Alley Houghton (five)
- Additionally, Luebbert's 2017 assist total is only one off her season total of four from a year ago
- The reigning SEC Freshman of the Year now has career totals of 29 points on 11 goals and seven assists
- She accumulated 24 points on 10 goals and four assists as a freshman in 2016
OFFENSE BY COMMITTEE IN 2017
- The Tigers compiled five goals over their first two games, with five different players providing each of those goals
- Senior Jessica Johnson and Savannah Trujillo, redshirt sophomore Madison Lewis, sophomore Sarah Luebbert and freshman Macy Trujillo each tallied goals
- Macy Trujillo, Johnson and Lewis all scored at Illinois, while Savannah Trujillo and Luebbert netted goals against Iowa State
LEWIS MAKING AN IMPACT
- Redshirt sophomore Madison Lewis has proven an integral part of Mizzou's attack only two matches into 2017
- She has started both games in the midfield and compiled three points on one goal and one assist so far
- The starts were the first two of her career, as she did not start any of the 18 matches she played as a redshirt freshman in 2016
- Additionally, her three points on the year almost match her 2016 season total of four (on two goals)
FRESHMAN OPENS 2017 SCORING
- Freshman Macy Trujillo tallied Mizzou's first goal of the season early in the second half at Illinois a week ago
- Her goal marked the first time a Tiger true freshman tallied the season's opening goal since 2012
- Former Tiger Candace Johnson was the last Missouri true freshman to open scoring in a season, when she scored in the 15th minute in a 5-1 win over Memphis on Aug. 17, 2012
FOUR TIGERS NAMED TO SEC WATCH LIST
- Four members of the Mizzou soccer team earned spots on the Southeastern Conference Preseason Watch List, the league announced on Aug. 16.
- Seniors Kaitlyn Clark and Jessica Johnson were joined by sophomores Anna Frick and Sarah Luebbert on the Watch list
- Clark, an All-SEC second team selection in 2016, played and started 18 matches and notched 11 points on two goals and a team-best seven assists. She enters her senior season with 27 career points on six goals and 15 assists. Clark was also an SEC All-Newcomer Team selection in 2014
- Johnson comes into 2017 as Mizzou's active career points leader with 31 (on 10 goals and 11 assists). She posted career-best totals of 15 points, five goals and five assists as a junior in 2016
- As a freshman in 2016, Frick led all Mizzou field players with 1,756 minutes played. She played every minute of all but one contest at center back, including six overtime contests. Frick helped the Tiger defense notch three shutouts on the year
- Luebbert claimed 2016 SEC Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the All-SEC second team after compiling 24 points on 10 goals and four assists. Her 24 points and 10 goals rank second on Mizzou's all-time freshman list, while the 24 points were the most for a Tiger since 2009
MIZZOU PICKED FOURTH IN SEC PRESEASON POLL
- Mizzou was picked to finish fourth in the Southeastern Conference in a preseason voting by the league's 14 head coaches
- Florida was voted the favorite to win the conference in 2017, followed by Texas A&M in second and South Carolina in third. Arkansas was chosen fifth, Auburn sixth, Tennessee seventh, Vanderbilt eighth, Ole Miss ninth, Alabama 10th, LSU 11th, Kentucky 12th, Georgia 13th and Mississippi State 14th
- Points were compiled on a 13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis, though each coach was not allowed to vote for their own team
- Fourth ties Mizzou's highest-ever placement in the SEC Preseason Poll, as the team was also picked fourth in 2013
- 2017 marks the 25th season of women's soccer in the SEC
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT...OREGON STATE
- The Beavers went 1-0-1 in the opening weekend, with a 2-1 win over Seattle and a 0-0 scoreless tie against Kansas State
- Oregon State recovered from a 1-0 deficit to defeat host Seattle 2-1 on Aug. 20
- Seniors Natalie Higgins and Emma Jones scored in the win over the Redhawks
- Keeper Bella Geist has played all 200:00 minutes in goal and owns a 0.45 GAA on the season
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT...NEBRASKA
- Nebraska, ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches rankings this week, went a perfect 2-0 last weekend with wins over Kansas (3-0) and Tulsa (3-1)
- Sophomore Elyse Huber earned United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week honors on Aug. 22 for three goals in the Huskers' first two matches
- Goalkeeper Aubrei Corder owns a 0.50 goals against average and a .833 save percentage in net
