Five Current and Former Tigers Compete in Arena Pro Swim Series Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. - Five current and former members of the Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the Arena Pro Swim Series at Atlanta, May 4-7, at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech. The Tigers posted four top eight finishes over the four days, including two from Michael Chadwick.
Chadwick earned a pair of top three finishes at the meet, where he took second in the 50m free and third in the 100m free. He dropped from 22.81 in prelims to 22.43 in finals of the 50m free to earn the runner-up spot, and also dropped nearly half a second in 100m finals with an evening swim of 49.54.
In the women's 200m back, Jennifer King placed fourth after a finals swim of 2:13.21, which was over a second faster than her time in prelims. King also won the 100m back B final to take ninth in 1:03.70 and finished 25th in the 400m IM (4:59.61)
Former Tiger Mack Darragh earned a fifth-place finish in the men's 200m IM after a finals swim of 2:03.59. He also swam in 200m breast prelims and touched in 2:20.98, which was 16th in the morning session.
Also competing in Atlanta were Azra Avdic and Giovanni Gutierrez Lozano. Avdic earned a 10th-place finish in the women's 200m fly with a time of 2:13.77 and took 21st in the 100m fly in 1:01.78. Gutierrez Lozano placed 22nd in the 800m free (8:32.71) and 35th in the 400m free (4:07.64).
