
Bouchard, Darragh Set for 2017 Canadian Swimming Trials

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Former Tigers Dominique Bouchard and Mack Darragh will compete in the 2017 Team Canada Trials, April 6-9, at the Saanich Commonwealth Place in Victoria, Canada. Both 2016 Olympians for Canada, Bouchard and Darragh will vie again represent their home country at the 2017 FINA World Championships, July 14-30, in Budapest, Hungary.
Preliminary heats begin at Noon CT each day with finals set for 8 p.m. CT.
Bouchard is slated to compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m back events. She enters the meet as the second-seed in the 100m and 200m races and fourth in the 50m event. At the 2016 Olympic Games, Bouchard placed ninth in the 200m back and 12th in the 100m back. She was an eight-time All-American at Mizzou from 2010-13. In her time in black and gold, Bouchard earned runner-up honors in the 200 back at the 2011 and 2013 NCAA Championships and placed third in the event in 2012, as well as placing seventh in the 100 back in 2013.
Darragh is entered in the 50m, 100m and 200m fly and 200m IM at Trials. He won both the 100m and 200m fly at last year's Canadian Trials and is the top seed in both events this week. He swam the fly leg of Canada's 4x100m medley relay that finished 16th at the 2016 Olympic Games and most recently competed at the 2016 FINA World Championships (25m) in December. As a senior for Mizzou at the 2015 NCAA Championships, he earned All-America first team honors in the 200 yard fly and established Mizzou records in the 200 yard fly and 200 yard IM.
