COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball (23-16, 4-7 SEC) returns to Southeastern Conference action this weekend (April 14-16) at No. 7 Auburn. Friday through Sunday's set in Auburn, Ala., will mark Mizzou's sixth matchup versus a top 10 nationally ranked opponent this season. Four of those top 10 foes have come inside SEC play.
Friday night's series opener at Jane B. Moore Field is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. Game two on Saturday evening is also set for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch, while Sunday afternoon's series finale is slated for a 2 p.m. CT start.
Both Friday and Saturday evening's contests will broadcast live on SEC Network + via WatchESPN. Fans can tune in live to ESPN for Sunday's matchup.
Series Snapshot
- The all-time series between Mizzou and Auburn is tied, 5-5.
- In the teams' last meeting, Auburn claimed a 5-2 victory at that year's SEC Tournament (May 7, 2015).
- In the last three-game series (March 27-29, 2015), Auburn took two of three games over Mizzou in Columbia, Mo.
Tigers Tally Two Walk-Off Wins vs. Western Illinois
- Mizzou improved to 4-0 this season in mid-week doubleheaders, following its two victories Tuesday (April 11) against Western Illinois in Columbia, Mo.
- The Tigers claimed a 10-2 (6 inn.) victory in game one and tallied a thrilling seventh inning 6-5 walk-off win in game two.
- Mizzou's offense was productive over the night's doubleheader sweep, hitting .382 (21-for-55) with 16 runs scored, four doubles, 14 RBI and nine stolen bases.
- Sophomore Regan Nash and senior Natalie Fleming paved the way individually after recording multi-hit efforts in each game.
- Fleming routinely provided big hits in both matchups, including a double, home run and team-best five RBI.
- Game two's heroics came courtesy of sophomore Kolby Romaine, as she tallied a walk-off two-run single in the bottom half of the seventh inning.
A Look at Mizzou's Impressive 2017 Victories
- Following Mizzou's series win over No. 9 Alabama (March 31 – April 2) and one victory over No. 25 Arkansas (April 7), the Tigers continued to accumulate impressive nationally ranked wins this season.
