COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball's 2017 home opener against Illinois-Chicago on Friday will also mark the debut of a new premium seating area at Taylor Stadium, the Break Time Lounge. This area will afford fans the opportunity to purchase premium menu items and alcohol in a covered seating area.
"We are grateful to MFA Oil and Break Time for coming alongside as a partner to help create this premium area for Tiger baseball fans and believe it will evolve into something special at Taylor Stadium," said Missouri Executive Associate Athletic Director/External Relations Brian White.
Columbia-based MFA Oil Company, a long-time corporate partner of Mizzou Athletics, operates Break Time convenience stores throughout Missouri and Arkansas.
"We are proud to support Mizzou Athletics and we're confident the Break Time Lounge will help to enhance the fan experience at Mizzou Baseball games," said Mark Fenner, president and CEO of MFA Oil Company.
Season membership to the Break Time Lounge is just a $100 donation to the Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF) for adults and $25 for children. Those looking to purchase access on a single-game basis will donate $20/game (adults) and $5/game (children) to TSF to enjoy the Break Time Lounge. Fans also must have a ticket to each game regardless of having a season or single-game membership to the lounge. Fans can purchase tickets and Break Time Lounge memberships by calling the Mizzou ticket office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS or 573-884-PAWS (local).
The Break Time Lounge will be open every game and the premium seating area will have beer available for purchase and a sundeck with tables and chairs and premium, covered seating. Specialty menu items will also be for sale in the Break Time Lounge.
Additionally, Mizzou is offering group seating options for single games in the Break Time Lounge. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $15/person and groups of 25 or more pay just $10 a person for access to the club. In addition, the nook down the left field line will also be available for rent on a single-game basis with a separate bar.
The 7-1 Tigers, under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Bieser and winners of seven-straight, host Illinois-Chicago in a three-game series at Taylor Field this weekend with first pitch Friday at 6:30 p.m. followed by games Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
