COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 20 Mizzou Softball will travel west for the second consecutive weekend (Feb. 23-25), as it competes in the annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. The Tigers will play five games over three days at the Big League Dreams complex.
Mizzou will play a pair of doubleheaders at this year's Mary Nutter, beginning with matchups against Notre Dame and Texas on Thursday, Feb. 23. Following a single game contest against No. 7 Washington on Friday, Feb. 24, the Tigers cap their tournament with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 25, against Nebraska and UC Santa Barbara.

Series Snapshots
- Mizzou leads the all-time series against Notre Dame, 5-2.
- Mizzou leads the all-time series against Texas, 20-16.
- Washington leads the all-time series against Mizzou, 7-4.
- Nebraska leads the all-time series against Mizzou, 52-32.
- Saturday evening's matchup between Mizzou and UC Santa Barbara will mark the programs' first-ever meeting.
Bats Come Alive in Tempe, Ariz.
- After a disappointing offensive start to the season at the Charleston Southern Tournament (Feb. 10-12), Mizzou rebounded in a big way at the ASU Littlewood Classic (Feb. 17).
- The Tigers tallied 14 runs on 22 hits over their two games (11-7 win over South Dakota and 7-3 loss to Illinois State) in Tempe, Ariz.
- Overall, Mizzou's batters hit .373 with 14 runs scored, 22 hits, five doubles, five home runs, 14 RBI, .406 OBP and .712 SLG%
- Seven individual Tigers hitters eclipsed a .300 average, highlighted by an outstanding .667 (4-for-6) mark from freshman Cayla Kessinger.
- Kessinger and fellow first-year Tiger Braxton Burnside paced Mizzou's offense over its recent two-game stretch. Burnside hit .500 (3-for-6) with three runs scored, one double, two home runs and six RBI. Along with her high average, Kessinger added three runs scored, one double and a home run to her offensive output.
- In Mizzou's 11-7 win over South Dakota, Burnside's first career home run, a two-run blast in the fifth inning, sparked the Tigers' second comeback victory of the young season. She also tallied a sacrifice fly RBI and a two-run double, leading to a career-best five RBI game at the plate.
- Kessinger also enjoyed a standout performance at the plate against the Coyotes, producing a career high three hits, three runs scored and a solo home run. The Saugus, Calif., native's three-hit morning marked a single-game high by a Tiger this season.
Mizzou Maintains top 25 Rankings
- For an incredible 132nd consecutive week, the Tigers placed in the nation's top 25 polls, announced on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
- Mizzou checked in at No. 20 in the NFCA Division I Coaches poll, while ranking No. 22 in USA Softball's weekly poll.
- Since the final rankings of the 2008 campaign, the Tigers have placed top 25 in the two respective national polls each time out.
