Sunday's final round secured the Tigers' second top 5 finish this year

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Mizzou Women's Golf wrapped up its Spring 2017 tournament opener on Sunday, finishing in fifth place at the Florida State Match-Up. The Tigers turned in a top 5 team performance for the second time this year, joining their first place finish at the 2016 Johnie Imes Invitational.
"We started the day with a solid front nine and finished strong to catch and hold off Minnesota on the back side," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "We showed signs of steady improvement throughout the tournament, which is always a good sign when coming off of winter break. Jess (Meek) made a gritty comeback after a rough start (4-under over last 15 holes). That's the kind of fight we are looking to exude this spring as we make our way into postseason play."
Mizzou shot a collective even par (288) over Sunday's final round, marking its top single-round team performance this weekend. Senior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) delivered her top single round of the 2016-17 season, firing a 2-under (70) final round at Don Veller Seminole Golf Club. Meek's T-25th final individual ranking marked a new single-season high.
Freshman Jessica Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) recorded her second consecutive round of 1-over (73) to conclude her tournament. Yuen's final even par (216) tournament placed T-13th overall. It marked her third top 15 individual finish and fourth top 25 individual finish this year.
