COLUMBIA, Mo. - Junior Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) of the Mizzou soccer team claimed a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Women's Team of the Week, the site announced on Tuesday. She was honored for her play in wins over LSU in the regular season finale and Alabama in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Dossey also claimed SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 27 for her performance against LSU.
In a must-win match against LSU on Oct. 26, Dossey recorded her first solo shutout of the season and made 10 saves in goal to help Mizzou to a 2-0 win. The 10 saves were a career-high, besting the seven she turned away against Florida on Nov. 2, 2016. Dossey played all 90 minutes against LSU to post the seventh shutout of her career.
Three days later, she played all 90 minutes in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Alabama in the opening round of the SEC Tournament. Dossey made four saves and allowed one goal to help Missouri advance to the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. During the two-game stretch, she earned two victories, made 14 total saves and boasted a goals against average of 0.50.
