COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team (5-7-1) returns to the pitch this weekend for a pair of Southeastern Conference matches. On Thursday, Oct. 5, the Tigers travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on No. 9 Florida at 5 p.m. CT. Missouri then hosts No. 21 Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. CT.

TIGER TIDBITS

  • The Gators lead to all-time series 6-1-2 and hold a 3-0-0 mark in Gainesville
  • Tennessee holds a 3-1-1 lead in the series with Mizzou, however the Tigers lead 1-0-1 in Columbia
  • The Tigers comeback fell short as the squad suffered a 5-3 loss at Vanderbilt on Sept. 29
  • Mizzou used goals from senior Jessica Johnson and sophomore Sarah Luebbert to recover from a 3-1 halftime deficit to knot the match at 3-3. However, The Commodores scored twice more in the second half to take the win
  • Redshirt sophomore Madison Lewis also put the Tigers on the board early in the match with her fourth goal of the year
  • Lewis now ranks second on the squad with 10 points on four goals and two assists
  • Johnson and Luebbert both have eight points this season, Johnson on four goals and Luebbert on two goals and a team-high four assists
  • Senior Kaitlyn Clark notched an assist on Johnson's goal against Vanderbilt
  • The senior now has five points on one goal and three assists, all of which have come over the last five matches
  • Mizzou scored six total goals in games Sept. 15 and 17, with a 3-1 win over Georgia in the SEC opener and a 3-0 shutout over Albany
  • The Tigers have tallied a season-high three goals three times in 2017: at Vanderbilt (Sept. 29), vs. Albany (Sept. 17) and vs. Georgia (Sept. 15)
