COLUMBIA, Mo. - Riding a four-game win streak, Mizzou Women's Basketball (15-7, 5-3) looks to complete an unblemished homestand when it hosts Kentucky at Mizzou Arena on Monday night. Tip off on SEC Network is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
PROMOS
- GOLD RUSH: Fans are encouraged to wear gold. The first 500 fans at Mizzou Arena will receive a free gold women's basketball T-shirt.
- The Kansas City Disc Dogs are performing at halftime.
- Mizzou's freshmen class will be available for postgame autographs.
OF NOTE
- The Tigers' current four-game win streak matches its longest in conference play since joining the SEC.
- A win Monday would mark the second time since Mizzou joined the SEC that Tigers have won three straight home games over league opponents.
- Mizzou has now beaten three SEC opponents by 14 points or more this season (Auburn, Arkansas and Georgia). The Tigers won just four games in SEC play by 14 points or more a season ago on its way to 22 overall victories.
- Mizzou has won four straight regular season games over Auburn.
- Mizzou has been dominant in first quarters this season, outscoring opponents 389-288 in the frame, including 135-84 in SEC play.
- In the previous matchup between Mizzou and Kentucky this season, Mizzou outscored the Wildcats by 18 over three quarters and erased a late deficit, but a big Kentucky second-quarter run proved to be too much to overcome as the Tigers fell on the road.
- Despite having just one true forward playing 15 minutes or more per game, Mizzou has outrebounded opponents 16 times in 22 games this season, going 13-3 in those contests.
- Mizzou has grabbed 40+ rebounds in three consecutive games. The last time the Tigers did that in three straight SEC games was during the 2014-15 season (1/4/15-1/11/15 against MSU, UGA and UF). Mizzou had a 40+ rebound game as a team just four times total in SEC play last season. The Tigers have three such games already this season and are 3-0 in those contests.
PORTER POWER
- Sophomore Cierra Porter has been Mizzou's most consistent offensive weapon this season. Her streak of consecutive games scoring in double digits to open the season was snapped at 15 games. The last time a Tiger reached double digits in the team's first 15 games was when RaeShara Brown (current assistant coach) did so during the 2011-12 campaign. Porter has scored at least 10 points in 20 of 22 contests.
- Porter is coming off a career night in which she poured in a career-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds to push Mizzou past Auburn. Porter made a career-high 10 field goals and converted four three-point plays.
- Porter made 4-of-4 shots and scored 10 points at Arkansas, marking the first perfect night from the field in her career.
- After a 14-point, 13-rebound outing vs. Texas A&M, Porter has a team-high nine double-doubles this season and 10 in her career. When Porter has recorded a double-double, Mizzou is 8-1.
- She ranks second in the SEC in total blocked shots with 37 swats (which is 15 more than her total output from last season). She has recorded at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots in a game four times this season.
FRESHMEN SETTLING IN
- In her last two outings, freshman Amber Smith has 22 combined points and five rebounds. During Mizzou's win streak, she has made 14-of-21 field goals, shot 5-of-7 from 3-point range and averaged a point per every two minutes on the floor.
- In a road win over Vanderbilt, freshmen Jordan Chavis and Smith were instrumental in the victory, combining for 24 points and 7-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Smith's three 3-pointers were a career-high and her dagger with 1:15 remaining proved to be the game-defining shot.
- The Vanerbilt game marked the sixth time this season Chavis and Smith have combined to score 15 points or more. When one of them reaches double digits, Mizzou is 6-1.
LAST TIME OUT
- Mizzou extended its winning-streak to four games with a dominant 68-53 win over Auburn.
- Sophomore forward Cierra Porter (Columbia, Mo.) was superb for the Tigers, as she poured in a career high 27 points (10-of-14 FG, 7-of-9 FT), including a 13-point fourth quarter explosion that saw her convert four three-point plays down low.
- Freshman guard Amber Smith shot a career best 85.7 percent while posting 13 points.
