Box Score KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Mizzou soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Tennessee Thursday evening in Knoxville, Tenn. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 5-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in Southeastern Conference play, while the Volunteers improved to 5-4-0 and 1-1-0.
Tennessee grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute and added its second of the match on a one-timer in the 68th minute.
Junior Jessica Johnson (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Tigers with four shots, including two shots on net. She had two close chances in the second half, including a 25-yard blast in the 74th minute that flew just over the crossbar.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Kristen Rivers (Lawrenceville, Ga.) made four saves in net for the Tigers.
Mizzou returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 18, when the team hosts Weber State at 1 p.m. at Walton Stadium.
