Mizzou's Emily Crane Named SEC Softball Co-Player of the Week

Senior OF delivered another big week, keying Tigers' four-game winning streak
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mizzou Softball senior OF Emily Crane (Troy, Mo.) was named Southeastern Conference Softball Co-Player of the Week, as announced Monday by the SEC office. Monday's award marks Crane's first career honor from the SEC office.
Crane played a key role into the Tigers' perfect 4-0 week (April 18-24), including consecutive walk-off wins against No. 16 Texas A&M. Sunday evening's walk-off victory concluded on Crane's game-winning run in the seventh inning as she beat the throw at home plate.
The Troy, Mo., native paced Mizzou's offense this past week in doubles (two), home runs (two), RBI (seven), total bases (15) and slugging percentage (1.071). Crane is in midst of a 17-game consecutive reached base safely streak, matching her career high in the category.
Crane has enjoyed an All-American caliber senior campaign for the Tigers and continues to fill up the stat sheet every week. In four games against Iowa (April 19) and Texas A&M (April 24-25), she hit .500 (7-for-14) with two multi-hit efforts. Crane enters play Monday night with 15 multi-hit games this season and 68 in her outstanding career.
In game two of the doubleheader at Iowa, Crane slammed two home runs with five RBI. It marked her third time this season with five RBI in a single game, matching her career high. The multi-home run effort at the plate also marked her second career multi-home run game.
The Mizzou right fielder is among the SEC's top hitters this season. Within the current SEC hitters' rankings, Crane's .869 slugging percentage ranks 2nd, 113 total bases ranks 2nd, 15 home runs ranks 4th, 51 runs scored ranks 5th, 52 RBI ranks 5th, 13 doubles ranks 5th, .529 on-base percentage ranks 8th, 18 stolen bases ranks 9th, .408 average ranks 10th and 53 hits ranks 12th-best.
Crane and the Tigers seek a series sweep on Monday, April 25, against No. 16 Texas A&M at University Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) and the game will broadcast live on SEC Network.
