
Eight @MizzouSwimDive Divers Set for NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

Eight Tiger dive will compete for NCAA Championships berths this week
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Eight divers from Mizzou's men's and women's diving teams will vie for NCAA Championships berths this week at the three-day NCAA Zone D Diving Championships Monday, March 7-Wednesday, March 9 in College Station, Texas.
The field is comprised of divers from 21 different women's programs and 12 different men's teams.
The meet gets underway on Monday with women's 1-meter at 11 a.m. and the men's 3-meter competition at 5:45 p.m. Following prelims, 18 divers will advance to finals, with scores carried over.
All eight Mizzou divers will compete at Zones this week. In the women's competition, sophomore Madeline McKernan and freshman Payton Conrad will dive in all three events, while sophomores Alexa Beckwith and Kendra Kieser will compete on the springboards.
On the men's side, senior Clark Thomas will go on all three boards, while sophomore Hunter Fritter and freshman Kyle Goodwin will compete on 3-meter and platform. Sophomore Elliot Cecil will go on the springboards.
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving meet will be eligible to compete at the NCAA championships. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone will be eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's championships NCAA championships.
Based on last year's NCAA performances, Zone D will advance six women on 1-meter and nine apiece on 3-meter and platform. Seven men will qualify on both 1-meter and 3-meter and eight will advance on platform.

11 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. – Women's 3-meter
5:45 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Men's 1-meter
Wednesday, March 8
11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Women's platform
3 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. – Men's platform
