Brianna Lashway and Hine pick up wins in singles for the Tigers
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis (7-1) lost to No. 32 Wichita State (6-2), 4-2, in a closely contested matchup Thursday evening at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Senior Kelli Hine (New Braunfels, Texas) and sophomore Brianna Lashway (Bradenton, Fla.) picked up wins in singles play for the Tigers.
In doubles play, Mizzou yielded doubles point for only the second time this season. At the No. 2 position, Brianna Lashway and junior Cassidy Spearman (Laguna Nigel, Calif.) lost a competitive set, 7-5, while junior Brittany Lashway (Bradenton, Fla.) and sophomore Clare Raley (Atlanta, Ga.) lost at the No. 3 position, 6-2.
In singles play, Brianna Lashway defeated Rebecca Pedrazzi in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, while Hine defeated Giulia Guidetti, 6-3, 6-3.
Mizzou will finish its week by hosting BYU tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 12. The Tigers will play host to the Cougars of BYU at the Mizzou Tennis Complex at 12 p.m. CT.
